Your feedback is really important to Sheffield University Management School. Without it, we can’t evolve and make sure future students have a great experience here.
That’s why we’d really appreciate it if you would leave your mark by completing the National Student Survey (NSS).
We’ve made lots of changes in response to previous NSS results, and moving to our new facilities has been a solution to many of the things past students have said. Uncomfortable seminar rooms are a thing of the past as we’ve also capped the student numbers in tutorials, and with all our academics and professional staff under one roof, it’s much easier to access the help that you need.
We’ve responded to your call for more one-to-one feedback and time with academics. Under development are drop-in sessions, a more thorough personal tutoring system and better communication between students and management school staff. These are already making it much easier for students to receive comprehensive feedback on assignments and prepare for exams.
We’ve also enhanced the parts you liked already – our IT suite and Student Experience Office are better than ever, and the new building has created a friendly, welcoming community for students at all levels of study.
Trialling new software to improve feedback and assessment has been a significant change in response to the results of previous surveys. Modern, forward-thinking approaches are what we do best at the management school – systems such as PeerWise, Aropa and GradeMark fit neatly into that category. The school even has its own App!
Our careers offer has probably seen the most significant growth. The day-to-day support available in our Employability Hub is making key information and core-skills training available on a drop-in basis, and our two in-house careers advisors mean that help is at your fingertips. Bringing employers directly to you has been a major initiative, so our guest lecturers and Careers Discovery Series have been extremely beneficial.
We’re making it easier than ever to leave your mark – and there are prizes up for grabs too. On 25 February 2014, the management school is hosting a drop-in survey completion event. Join us in the IT Suite for food, drinks and a great chance to get final-year students together.
Don’t forget, student participation means prizes! Just look at this table to see what’s up for grabs in the management school’s prize draw:
