The Management Lecture is a joint venture between the Management School and Sheffield Business School at Sheffield Hallam University. This year, the Management Lecture formed part of the launch of Sheffield’s Global Manufacturing Festival. The Global Manufacturing Festival is a great forum for businesses operating in high technology, high quality, export-led manufacturing supply chains. Due to their active involvement in supporting new technology and innovations within the supply chain through high level research output, both the Management School and the University are strong supporters of the Global Manufacturing Festival.
Ian Proctor, Head of Business Development and External Relations at the Management School, said: “This was a fascinating insight into high level manufacturing and we were delighted the lecture was so well attended. Both the Management School and the University are very committed to working with businesses, regionally, nationally and internationally and are very actively involved with the local community. The lecture stimulated a great deal of lively discussion and was well received by all who attended.”
Master Cutler Pam Liversidge launched the Global Manufacturing Festival at the event and was joined by Titan the robot who entertained guests with some songs and a dance before they took their seats for the Management Lecture.
Professor Keith Glaister, Dean of the Management School, said: “We were delighted to welcome Sir Roger Bone, President of Boeing UK, as our speaker at this year’s Management Lecture. The combination of Sir Roger’s experience within the diplomatic service coupled with his profile as a leading industrialist with expertise in aerospace made for a fascinating evening.”
