The City Region Leadership Programme to give local managers new leadership skills

In light of the recent Government changes which have resulted in many challenges for local authorities, it has been identified that leadership and management styles need to change to deal with these challenges effectively.  The local council recently set up the The City Region Leadership Programme designed in partnership with the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University to get both public and private sector managers together to focus on outcomes for the city.

The City Region Leadership Programme is delivered jointly by the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University, through Business Advantage. This collaborative approach intends to advise on and implement strategies to improve services and enhance the region’s ability to grow and prosper during these challenging times.

Private and public sector managers across various services will study modules including: Leadership and coaching; Initiating, adapting to, and managing change; Building a culture of innovation and improvement; Developing customer-centric services; Business focus underpinning service planning and control as part of the programme.
